After several months of being on the market, my condo is finally being sold.  We should close at the end of this month.  When it is all said and done, I will have lost a lot of money on the condo.  Most of the loss comes from the delta from the mortgage payments and the rent I could collect over the past five years, yet the sale price basically eliminates any chance of getting my down payment back.  I have mixed feelings on this.  I’m happy to finally cauterize the financial wound, yet the sale reminds me of the mistake I made by buying when I arrived in DC.

Amy will be going up to DC to attend the closing while I’ll stay home and take care of the dogs.  While up there, she’ll visit some friends.  We are already trying to figure out what we want to do with the additional money over the next few months.  Amy is looking for a new mattress so we can finally set up a guest room.

I’m glad that we are finally selling the condo, and I hope that the new owners enjoy it.  They got a good deal.
