Well, it looks like I’ll be staying in AFRL for the time being. The interview went well, but they don’t have any vacancies that I can fill, and they are concerned that my personality may clash with one of the folks I’d be working closely with. It is a shame. They did ask that I apply for a civilian job there when I retire, which is something to consider.

Now, I’ll start my new job in AFRL as the Deputy Program Manager for our Flexible Weapons program. It will be a challenging job and will push my program management skills. I’d rather do software, but I will do what I can do for AFRL while I’m still here.
