This winter has been snowy.  I think there is about a foot and a half of snow on the ground outside.  Yesterday I had to take out the snowshoes to make trails in the backyard for the dogs.  They of course enjoyed the trails, and still walked into the thick snow, resulting in wet doggies, and a bit of drying off before they are allowed back in.

Overall, it has been a pretty good winter.  The heat has stayed on, and the electricity has been pretty stable (only one night in a hotel so far).  Dogs are doing well, being very spoiled.  We are trying to leave them in the house alone when we go out, and that is giving us mixed results.  First two times, it went great.  However, now they are going after the dog snacks and other foods (yet, Katrina won’t eat her breakfast this morning), so that is frustrating.

Amy is adopting well to the winter.  She’s becoming to realize that you can survive, but I’m still the one walking the dogs in the cold.  Amy’s been wearing her blaze orange jacket to work, and now has a reputation.  Now they are asking her to wear the matching pants into work.  The good news is that Amy just laughs at this.  For me, as long as she is warm things are good.

I think we are all looking forward to spring.  The sun is going down a bit later now, and that is one sign of hope.  With this much snow it will be a long time before we have a yard to play in, but we are looking forward to the changing seasons.  We have managed to get out and have fun in the snow.

Peace,

John and Amy
